PSA/Boring Stuff

Thanks to everyone who gave us a heads up about our website! It was hacked by spambots earlier in the week, but is now clean of malware.

If you’re using Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer (good god WHY??), then you should be all set. If you’re using Chrome or an Android OS to view the site, a scary red warning may stay up for a day or two. That has to be removed by Google at their earliest convenience.

But I promise we’re clean! I had us tested and everything! BUT if you’d like to practice safe viewing until Doc Google gives us our official bill of clean health, I won’t blame you.

See you on the flipside, zinesters!

You’re going to join us right? Yes. Yes, you are. Look at you with your right answers!
(FYI: Slightly more information on Facebook.)

First (real) meeting!

Who? Words ‘N Stuff - the student org that puts out Ramen and other zines!

When? Tomorrow night at 7pm.

Where? The Loft (916 S. Wabash, 4th Fl)

Why? Because we’re awesome. And zines are awesome. And we have a lot to talk about…

  • Printing/distributing issue two!
  • Starting work on issue three!
  • Ideas for other zines we’re working on this semester.
  • Hosting a doc screening with Silver Tongue next week.
  • Finalizing details for our bake sale at the end of the month.
  • Start planning our trip to Madison Zine Fest in October!

See you there?

Who braved the heat and got a free issue of Ramen at Thursday’s Convocation? (Answer: 150 of you!)
If you were there, check out a couple photos on our new Flickr. If you weren’t, you can still read the first issue online!

Anyone see the Ramen shout out in the first issue of Veg Chicago?
It was put together by our bud Emily Easton, who we Pestered in the first issue. If you can’t tell by the title, its focus is eating vegan or vegetarian in Chicago. It’s almost as awesome as Emily herself-and that’s saying something! So check it out if you get the chance. We’ll be handing out free copies at Columbia’s Convocation tomorrow ;)
